Wayne Street Live Outdoor Stage Project

Wayne Street Live is transforming Houston’s creative landscape by building the city’s first shipping container outdoor stage—a vibrant, multi-use venue designed to empower local artists and strengthen community bonds. Our innovative project repurposes a shipping container into a fully equipped performance space, complete with a recording studio, control room, professional lighting, advanced audio/video and streaming capabilities, and even a sound-isolated vocal booth and restroom.

This stage isn’t just about live music—it’s a platform for mentorship, creative expression, and economic opportunity. We’ll host concerts, jam sessions, workshops, and community events, making the arts accessible to all and spotlighting underrepresented voices. With flexible dual platforms, the space can accommodate large bands, dance performances, and immersive multimedia experiences, both in-person and online.

We’ve already laid the groundwork: the container is on-site, the slab and power are ready, and our non-profit, Wayne Street Live Artist Empowerment Network, is leading the charge. With support from the Awesome Grant, we’ll bring this vision to life—creating a sustainable, inclusive, and inspiring hub for Houston’s creative community.
