Workforce Development Initiative
Wayne Street Live Artist Empowerment Network is dedicated to strengthening Houston’s creative community through our Workforce Development Initiative—a program designed to provide accessible career-building opportunities beyond traditional internships. Our initiative collaborates with local artists, musicians, engineers, and producers to open pathways into the music and media industries for community members of all backgrounds.
Workshops & Masterclasses
Regular sessions led by industry professionals on topics such as audio engineering, music business, digital marketing, live sound, and content creation.
Job Shadowing & Mentorship
Community members can shadow working professionals during studio sessions, concerts, and media projects, gaining real-world insights and connections.
Project-Based Learning:
Participants work on actual recording, production, and event projects, developing practical skills while contributing to real outcomes.
Career Networking Events
Quarterly mixers and panels connect aspiring creatives with established professionals, employers, and collaborators.
Job Opportunity Board
Artist Power maintains a board of freelance, part-time, and full-time opportunities in music, media, and events, accessible to all community members.
Community Empowerment
Special focus on supporting underrepresented groups, including young people, women, and BIPOC creatives, with targeted programming and scholarships.

Spread the word about our mission and events! Social Media & Marketing Volunteers help create and share content, engage with our online community, and support campaigns that amplify local artists and initiatives.
Community Outreach
Be a connector in Houston’s creative scene! Community Outreach Volunteers help build relationships with local artists, organizations, and supporters, distribute flyers, and represent Wayne Street Live at community events.
Workshop & Program Support Volunteer
Support our educational and empowerment programs! These volunteers assist with workshop logistics, participant registration, and hands-on activities, helping to create a welcoming learning environment for all.
